Engwe · Folding commuter
MSRP $1,899
$1,499
Engwe's own sale price — lower than MSRP minus our ROWER code
The 5th cheapest of the 8 Engwe models currently on sale .
The price above is $1,499 on October 8, 2026 — $400 below the $1,899 MSRP , and below the $1,709 our discount would make of the MSRP
The figures above are Engwe's MSRP, which is what we quote throughout the site. This bike was discounted when we last looked, and sale prices move faster than we rebuild — so treat it as an observation with a date, not a live price. We also don't know whether our code stacks on top of a Engwe sale; Engwe's terms say exclusions may apply, so check the total before you pay.

The EP-2 3.0 is our top pick in the best folding e-bikes guide, and the two specs that put it there are not the ones folding bikes usually win on. Ninety newton-metres of torque is a lot for a folder — more than double what Velotric publishes for its lightweight T1 ST Plus — and 8A fast charging means the battery refills in a fraction of the time a standard 2A charger takes, which matters far more on a bike you fold into a flat and plug in by the door. At $1,899 it lists $200 above Kingbull’s Literider 2.0, and after codes — ours is 10% on Engwe and a flat $60 on Kingbull — that becomes $1,709 against $1,639, so the Kingbull is the cheaper of the two on list prices. Engwe was selling the EP-2 3.0 at $1,499 when we last checked, which flips the answer back the other way.

What Engwe doesn't publish for this model
Nominal and peak motor rating · Claimed range · Top speed · Weight · Maximum load · Battery capacity in Wh · Folded dimensions · Sensor type · Brakes. We looked for these and couldn't source them, so they're blank rather than estimated. If you need one to decide, ask Engwe for it in writing before you buy.
Who this bike is for
Buy it if
- You need a bike that folds for a flat, a train, a car boot or an RV
- You want real torque in a folder — 90Nm is unusual in this category
- You charge the bike indoors and value 8A fast charging over a standard slow charger
- You want fat tyres on a folder for broken city surfaces
Look elsewhere if
- You have to carry the bike far or up several flights. Fat-tyre folders are heavy, and Engwe publishes no weight
- You want the lightest folder available: Fiido’s D11 is 19.5 kg and its D3 Pro is a $659 mini folder
- You want a published payload — Engwe states one for the EU EP-2 Boost (150 kg) but not for this model
- You want the cheapest Engwe: the L20 2.0 is $700 less at list and $800 less at the sale prices we saw

Frequently asked questions
How much is the Engwe EP-2 3.0?
The MSRP is $1,899, and our code ROWER takes 10% off — about $190, bringing it to roughly $1,709. That makes it the fifth cheapest of the eight Engwe models on the US store. Engwe was selling it at $1,499 when we last checked, 21% below MSRP.
Is our 10% code better than Engwe’s own sale price?
Often not, and we would rather say so. When we last checked, every bike on Engwe’s US store was 20–42% below MSRP — far more than 10%. Our code is worth 10% of whatever you pay, so on a bike already cut 40% it is a smaller absolute saving than the headline suggests, and we have not confirmed that it stacks on top of an Engwe sale. The practical approach: look at the store’s current price, compare it against MSRP minus 10%, and take the lower. Try the code at checkout and check the total changes before you pay.
How much does the Engwe EP-2 3.0 weigh?
Engwe doesn’t publish a weight for it, which is the most frustrating gap on any folding bike — the reason to buy a folder is usually that you move it. For reference, the EU-spec EP-2 Boost, which Engwe does document fully, is 30 kg, and fat-tyre folders generally sit in that territory. We won’t estimate this model’s figure. If you need to carry rather than just store the bike, Fiido’s 19.5 kg D11 is the documented alternative.
What is 8A fast charging worth?
A lot more than it sounds on a folding bike. Standard e-bike chargers are often 2A, and charge time scales roughly inversely with current — so an 8A charger refills the battery in a fraction of the time. On a bike that lives in your flat and gets plugged in beside the door, that is the difference between charging overnight and charging over lunch. It is also the feature most folding bikes at this price don’t have.
EP-2 3.0 or EP-2 Boost?
They are different-market bikes. The EP-2 3.0 is the US-spec model at $1,899 MSRP with 90Nm published; the EP-2 Boost is the EU-spec pedelec, limited to 250W nominal and 25 km/h by regulation, with 55Nm, a 624Wh battery, a 150 kg payload and a published 30 kg weight. If you are in Europe the Boost is what you can buy and it is the better documented of the two; in the US, the 3.0.
Is the EP-2 3.0 good for heavier riders?
Possibly, but we can’t tell you, because Engwe publishes no payload figure for this model. It does publish one for the EU EP-2 Boost — 150 kg, about 331 lb — and the two are closely related, but we are not going to transfer a figure from one model to another. If you need a stated limit, Velotric’s Fold 1 Plus publishes 450 lb at $1,499 and is the documented folding option.
Is this the same bike Engwe sells in Europe?
Almost certainly not, and this is a trap worth knowing about. Engwe runs separate regional catalogues with different model names, not just different power limits. The US store sells the L16, L20 2.0, M20 2.0, M20 3.0, L20 3.0 and EP-2 3.0; its European store sells a largely different range — the M1, P20, P275, N1 Air, Zip, LE20, E26, Engine Pro and others — in euros. Only the EP-2 Boost appears in both under the same name. So a review or price you find for an "Engwe L20" may be about a different bike from the one you are looking at, and EU models are 250W pedelecs capped at 25 km/h under EN 15194 regardless of any peak-power figure. Check which store you are buying from.
Our take
This is the folder we recommend first and the reason is the pairing of 90Nm with 8A charging. Torque is what folders usually give up — small wheels and a hinged frame tend to come with a modest motor — and 90Nm means this one climbs and pulls away properly rather than asking you to make up the difference. Fast charging is the unglamorous feature that changes daily life with a folding bike, because the whole point of a folder is that it comes indoors with you. On price the honest answer depends on which price you use. At MSRP minus our codes it is $1,709 against the Kingbull Literider 2.0’s $1,639, so the Kingbull wins by $70. At the price Engwe was actually charging when we last looked — $1,499 — the Engwe wins by $140. Check both stores on the day rather than trusting either list price. What we cannot tell you is the two things you most want on a folder: Engwe publishes neither a weight nor folded dimensions for it. If the bike has to go up stairs or into a specific car boot, ask Engwe for both figures before you order — and note that the EU-spec EP-2 Boost, which Engwe does document fully, weighs 30 kg, which gives you an idea of the territory. One thing matters more than any coupon here: Engwe discounts its own US store heavily and more or less permanently — every model was 20–42% below MSRP when we last checked. Compare the store’s sale price against MSRP minus our 10% code and take whichever is lower, because we have not confirmed that ours stacks on top of an Engwe sale.
