Prices checked October 6, 2026. We publish manufacturer MSRPs, not sale prices — a bike is often discounted below the figure above.

We have not ridden this bike. This is a price and specification page, not a review. Every figure below comes from Velotric's own published specification — we don't own the bike, and we won't pretend otherwise. Where a figure is missing it's because Velotric doesn't publish it.

The Nomad 2X publishes numbers almost nothing else in our catalogue does. A 560 lb maximum load is the highest figure we have found on any of the 118 e-bikes we track — about 100 lb clear of the next bikes — and a 1,000 lb towing rating is a spec most manufacturers simply refuse to state. Add full air suspension, which unlike a front fork alone can be set up for your actual weight, and 105Nm of torque, and the $400 premium over the standard Nomad 2 starts to look structural rather than cosmetic. At $2,399 it is the third most expensive Velotric, and it is the one we recommend first to heavier riders.

What Velotric doesn't publish for this model

Motor rating · Claimed range · Top speed · Weight · Battery capacity in Wh. We looked for these and couldn't source them, so they're blank rather than estimated. If you need one to decide, ask Velotric for it in writing before you buy.

Who this bike is for

Buy it if

  • You are near or above 300 lb, where 560 lb total leaves genuine headroom rather than a nervous margin
  • You want to tow — this is the only bike we track with a published towing rating
  • You ride rough ground and want suspension you can actually tune to your weight
  • You carry heavy loads as well as yourself

Look elsewhere if

  • You never go off pavement and never carry much — the $1,999 Nomad 2 saves you $400 for capability you won’t use
  • You need to lift the bike. Full suspension plus a load-rated build makes this a heavy machine
  • Range is your priority: Velotric publishes 65 miles for the cheaper Nomad 2 and nothing at all for this one

Frequently asked questions

What is the weight limit of the Velotric Nomad 2X?

Velotric publishes 560 lb (254 kg) as the maximum load. That is a total, not a rider limit — it includes you, your clothing, the rack, panniers and anything you are carrying. A 300 lb rider therefore has about 260 lb of headroom, which is unusually generous for an e-bike.

Can you tow a trailer with the Nomad 2X?

Velotric publishes a 1,000 lb towing rating for it, which is why it is the only bike in our catalogue we would say yes to this question for. Almost no e-bike publishes a towing figure at all, and fitting a loaded trailer to a bike that doesn’t is outside what the manufacturer will stand behind.

Nomad 2 or Nomad 2X?

The 2X costs $400 more and adds full air suspension, a published 105Nm of torque, the 560 lb load rating and the 1,000 lb towing rating. The Nomad 2 at $1,999 is the better buy only if none of those four things describes you — and because they are structural rather than bolt-on, $400 now is cheaper than buying the wrong bike. We’ve compared them row by row.

How far does the Nomad 2X go?

Velotric doesn’t publish a range figure for this model, so we can’t tell you and nobody else can either without asking them. For reference, the cheaper Nomad 2 claims up to 65 miles — and since the 2X carries air suspension and more weight, expect less rather than more.

How much is the Velotric Nomad 2X?

The MSRP is $2,399, which comes to $2,339 with our code REF602492. It is the third most expensive of the 15 Velotric models we track, and it was at MSRP when we last checked.

Our take

If you are the reason our heavy-rider guide exists, start here. The 560 lb maximum load is not a marketing round-up; it is the highest published figure we have found anywhere, and at 300 lb of rider it still leaves 260 lb for a passenger, panniers or a trailer tongue. The 1,000 lb towing rating opens up hauling that most e-bikes are simply not rated for, and the air suspension is the part people underestimate — being able to set spring rate to your weight is a different experience from riding a fork tuned for someone 100 lb lighter. The reason we would lean toward the 2X over the Nomad 2 for anyone in doubt is that suspension, load rating and towing capacity cannot be added later, unlike a rack or better tyres. The gap in the sheet to watch: Velotric publishes no range figure for this bike at all, and air suspension plus extra weight will cost distance against the Nomad 2’s 65-mile claim, so don’t assume the pricier bike also goes further.
