Prices checked October 6, 2026. We publish manufacturer MSRPs, not sale prices — a bike is often discounted below the figure above.

We have not ridden this bike. This is a price and specification page, not a review. Every figure below comes from Velotric's own published specification — we don't own the bike, and we won't pretend otherwise. Where a figure is missing it's because Velotric doesn't publish it.

The Fold 1 Lite is the cheapest bike Velotric makes at $1,099, which puts it $400 below the standard Fold 1's $1,499 MSRP and $350 below the three bikes that used to share the bottom of the range. Lite in a folding bike's name normally signals one of two things — a lighter bike, or a cheaper one with less of everything — and Velotric publishes almost nothing for this model, so we cannot tell you which. That gap matters more here than on most pages: the entire case for a bike called Lite rests on either its weight or its price, and only one of those is on the table. What we can do is tell you what $400 buys you if you step up instead.

What Velotric doesn't publish for this model

Motor rating · Claimed range · Top speed · Weight · Maximum payload · Battery capacity in Wh · Sensor type · Brakes. We looked for these and couldn't source them, so they're blank rather than estimated. If you need one to decide, ask Velotric for it in writing before you buy.

Who this bike is for

Buy it if

  • $1,099 is the budget and a folding Velotric is what you want
  • Your rides are short and flat, where the specs you'd want published matter least
  • You want into the brand's ecosystem — dealer network, UL-certified batteries — at the lowest price it offers

Look elsewhere if

  • You need published figures to decide. Velotric states no motor, no range, no weight and no payload for this model
  • You are a heavier rider or you carry loads — the Fold 1 Plus publishes 450 lb and this publishes nothing
  • You specifically want a light bike to carry. Despite the name, Velotric publishes no weight for it; the Tempo publishes 39 lb
  • You can reach $1,299, which is what we last saw the better-specified Fold 1 selling for

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Velotric Fold 1 Lite?

$1,099, which makes it the cheapest of the 15 Velotric models we track — $400 below the $1,499 MSRP of the Fold 1, Fold 1 Plus and Tempo. With our code REF602492 it comes to $1,039. Note that the Fold 1 was discounted to $1,299 when we last checked, so the real gap on the day was nearer $200 than $400.

Is the Fold 1 Lite lighter than the Fold 1?

We don't know, and that is a genuine problem with this model. Velotric publishes no weight for either the Fold 1 Lite or the Fold 1, so despite the name there is no way to confirm that Lite refers to weight rather than to specification or price. If carrying the bike is why you are interested, the Velotric Tempo is the only model in the range with a published weight, at 39 lb. Ask Velotric for the Fold 1 Lite's figure in writing before you buy on the strength of its name.

Fold 1 Lite or Fold 1?

The Fold 1, if you can afford the difference. At MSRP the gap is $400 and at the prices we last saw it was about $200 ($1,099 against $1,299) — and for that the Fold 1 publishes a 750W motor, up to 55 miles of claimed range and a 28 mph Class 3 top speed, where the Lite publishes none of those. Buying the cheaper bike here means buying on inference rather than on figures.

Why does this page have so few specifications?

Because Velotric publishes almost nothing for this model and we don't fill gaps with estimates. Everything we could source is in the table above; the list of what is missing is longer than the list of what isn't. That is a real reason to be cautious rather than a formatting quirk — on a bike this cheap, the specs a brand leaves out are usually the ones that would make the price look less attractive.

Our take

The honest answer is that we cannot recommend this bike on its specifications, because Velotric doesn't publish any — not a motor rating, not a range claim, and most strikingly for something called Lite, not a weight. What we can do is frame the decision by price, which is the only hard number we have. At $1,099 it is $400 below the Fold 1 and Fold 1 Plus at MSRP, but the Fold 1 was selling at $1,299 when we last looked, which narrows the real gap to $200 — and for that $200 you get a published 750W motor, a 55-mile claimed range and a 28 mph top speed instead of silence. For $350 more than this bike, the Fold 1 Plus adds a published 450 lb payload and 68 miles. Our advice: if $1,099 is a hard ceiling, this is the cheapest way onto a Velotric and the brand's dealer network and UL-certified batteries still come with it. If you can find $200, the Fold 1 at its street price is the better-documented bike and we would take it. And if the word Lite is what drew you in because you need to carry the bike, ask Velotric for the weight in writing first, because nobody has published it.
