The figures above are Velotric's MSRP, which is what we quote throughout the site. This bike was discounted when we last looked, and sale prices move faster than we rebuild — so treat it as an observation with a date, not a live price. We also don't know whether our code stacks on top of a Velotric sale; Velotric's terms say exclusions may apply, so check the total before you pay.

We have not ridden this bike. This is a price and specification page, not a review. Every figure below comes from Velotric's own published specification — we don't own the bike, and we won't pretend otherwise. Where a figure is missing it's because Velotric doesn't publish it.

The T1 ST Plus is the bike for people who want a light, nimble e-bike rather than a powerful one, and it is the model in Velotric’s range with the strongest outside recognition — CNET named it one of its best electric bikes for 2026. At $1,649 you get a 600W peak motor producing 40Nm, a 28 mph Class 3 top speed and Tektro 160mm brakes in a slim step-through frame. Note the numbers carefully, because this is a different kind of bike from the rest of the range: 40Nm is less than half what the Nomad 2X publishes, and that is the point. Less motor means less weight and a bike that handles like a bicycle.

What Velotric doesn't publish for this model

Claimed range · Weight · Maximum load · Battery capacity in Wh · Sensor type. We looked for these and couldn't source them, so they're blank rather than estimated. If you need one to decide, ask Velotric for it in writing before you buy.

Who this bike is for

Buy it if

  • You want a bike that feels light and nimble in traffic rather than heavy and powerful
  • You ride mostly flat city streets over modest distances
  • A step-through frame matters — easy to mount, easy in a skirt or a suit
  • You value outside recognition from reviewers who have actually ridden it

Look elsewhere if

  • You ride hills. 40Nm is the lowest published torque figure in the range and you will feel it
  • You want long range: the commuters claim 80 to 95 miles, this bike publishes no range figure at all
  • You need to carry loads — this is the wrong shape of bike for it
  • You want the lightest Velotric: the Tempo is published at 39 lb and costs $150 less

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Velotric T1 ST Plus?

The MSRP is $1,649, which comes to $1,589 with our code REF602492. It is the fifth cheapest of the 15 Velotric models we track. Velotric was selling it for $1,399 when we last checked, $250 below MSRP.

How far does the T1 ST Plus go?

Velotric doesn’t publish a range figure for this model, which is a notable gap on a lightweight bike where battery size is usually the compromise. We won’t estimate one. If range is important to you, the Discover 3 (80 miles claimed) and Summit 2 (95 miles) are the documented choices in this range.

Is 40Nm enough torque?

On flat ground, yes — 40Nm is plenty to get a light bike moving and hold a city pace. On hills it is the lowest figure Velotric publishes, less than half the Nomad 2X’s 105Nm, and you will be contributing real effort on anything steep. If you live somewhere hilly this is the wrong bike in the range.

T1 ST Plus or Tempo?

The Tempo is $150 cheaper, publishes a 39 lb weight and a 60-mile range, and runs a 350W motor. The T1 ST Plus has more peak power (600W), a published 40Nm and Tektro brakes, and reaches 28 mph where the Tempo’s top speed isn’t published. Tempo if the weight figure and the price decide it; T1 ST Plus if you want the stronger motor and brakes.

Our take

This is the nicest Velotric to ride in a city, as far as anyone who has ridden it reports, and the reason is the thing the spec sheet makes look like a weakness. Forty newton-metres and a 600W peak are modest numbers, which means a smaller motor and battery, which means a bike that changes direction and stops like a bicycle instead of a moped. Tektro brakes at this price are a real component choice rather than a generic part. The two things to be clear-eyed about: hills, where 40Nm will have you working, and range, where Velotric publishes nothing at all for this model — a gap that matters more than usual because a smaller motor usually means a smaller battery. If you want light and quick for short urban trips, this or the $1,499 Tempo. If you want to go far or climb, look at the Discover 3 and accept the extra weight.
