Prices checked October 6, 2026. We publish manufacturer MSRPs, not sale prices — a bike is often discounted below the figure above.

We have not ridden this bike. This is a price and specification page, not a review. Every figure below comes from Velotric's own published specification — we don't own the bike, and we won't pretend otherwise. Where a figure is missing it's because Velotric doesn't publish it.

The Tempo is the Velotric for people whose real problem is not range or power but stairs. At a published 39 lb it is the lightest bike in the range by a wide margin — and crucially, Velotric actually publishes the figure, which it does not for most of its catalogue. A 350W motor and a 60-mile claimed range round it out at $1,499, which makes it one of the three cheapest Velotrics behind only the $1,099 Fold 1 Lite. Thirty-nine pounds is still a lot to carry up two flights, but it is in the territory where it is possible, which no 60 lb fat bike is. If you live in a flat without a lift, or you lift the bike onto a rack or into a car boot, this is where to start.

What Velotric doesn't publish for this model

Top speed · Maximum load · Motor torque in Nm · Battery capacity in Wh · Sensor type · Brakes. We looked for these and couldn't source them, so they're blank rather than estimated. If you need one to decide, ask Velotric for it in writing before you buy.

Who this bike is for

Buy it if

  • You have to carry or lift the bike — up stairs, onto a rack, into a boot
  • You live in a small flat where the bike has to go indoors
  • You want a published weight figure rather than a guess, which most of this range doesn’t give you
  • Your rides are short and flat, where 350W is sufficient

Look elsewhere if

  • You ride hills. 350W is the smallest motor in the range by some distance
  • You carry loads or a passenger — this is the wrong bike entirely
  • You ride rough ground; a light city bike transmits everything
  • You want the bike to fold as well as be light: the Fold 1 and Fold 1 Plus are the same $1,499

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Velotric Tempo weigh?

Velotric publishes 39 lb, which makes it the lightest bike in the range and one of the few Velotric models with a published weight at all. For context, that is light for an e-bike — most fat-tyre and commuter models sit well above 60 lb, though Velotric doesn’t publish figures for those so we can’t give you the exact gap.

How much is the Velotric Tempo?

The MSRP is $1,499, or $1,439 with our code REF602492. That makes it the joint second-cheapest Velotric alongside the Fold 1 and Fold 1 Plus — only the $1,099 Fold 1 Lite undercuts them, and that is a folder rather than a lightweight city bike. The Tempo was at full MSRP when we last checked, while several bikes around it were discounted.

Is a 350W motor enough?

For flat city riding over short distances, yes — and on a 39 lb bike there is much less mass to move than on a 65 lb one, so the motor is working against less. On hills, into headwinds or with a loaded rack it is the weakest motor in Velotric’s range and you will supply the difference. If you live somewhere hilly, look at the 750W bikes and accept the weight.

Tempo or Fold 1?

Both are $1,499. The Tempo is lighter at a published 39 lb and claims 60 miles; the Fold 1 has a 750W motor, claims 55 miles and folds. If you must carry the bike, Tempo. If you must store or transport it in a small space, Fold 1. If you need both, the Fold 1 Plus publishes a 450 lb payload and 68 miles for the same money.

Our take

This is the easiest Velotric to live with, and weight is the spec that decides more real purchases than people expect. A 39 lb bike you can get indoors is a bike you ride; a 65 lb bike chained outside is a bike you worry about. Sixty claimed miles is also genuinely good for something this light, which usually means a small battery. Be honest with yourself about two things before buying. The 350W motor is the smallest here and this is not the bike for hills or headwinds — you will be pedalling properly, which some people want and others discover too late. And at the same $1,499 MSRP Velotric sells both Fold models, which are heavier but collapse — and the $1,099 Fold 1 Lite undercuts all three: if your constraint is storage space rather than carrying weight, a folder solves it better. Buy the Tempo specifically when the problem is lifting.
