The GoMad is Velotric’s utility bike: 20-inch by 4.0-inch fat tyres, a 750W motor, a 75-mile claimed range and a low, stable stance designed to carry things. Small fat wheels are an unusual combination that makes a lot of sense for load-carrying — a lower centre of gravity than a 26-inch bike, more contact patch, and a shorter wheelbase that stays manageable when loaded. At $1,999 it sits at the same price as the Discover 3, Nomad 2 and Summit 1, which means choosing it is a choice about what you need the bike to do rather than about budget.

What Velotric doesn't publish for this model
Maximum load · Top speed · Weight · Motor torque in Nm · Battery capacity in Wh · Rack capacity. We looked for these and couldn't source them, so they're blank rather than estimated. If you need one to decide, ask Velotric for it in writing before you buy.
Who this bike is for
Buy it if
- You carry gear, shopping or tools regularly and want a bike shaped for it
- You want fat-tyre stability without a full-size fat bike’s bulk
- You ride broken surfaces where a low, wide-tyred bike feels planted
- You want more claimed range than the Nomad 2 (75 against 65) at the same price
Look elsewhere if
- You carry a passenger or bulky cargo behind you — this isn’t a longtail, and Fiido and Aventon both make proper ones
- You need a published maximum load to buy with confidence: Velotric doesn’t state one for this model
- You ride long distances on pavement, where the Summit 2 claims 95 miles for $100 more
- You need to lift or carry the bike

Frequently asked questions
How much is the Velotric GoMad?
The MSRP is $1,999, or $1,939 with our code REF602492. It shares that price with the Discover 3, Discover 2, Nomad 2 and Summit 1 — Velotric packs a lot of the range into this one number.
How much can the GoMad carry?
Velotric doesn’t publish a maximum load or rack capacity for this model, so we can’t tell you — which is frustrating for a bike sold as a utility machine. If a published figure matters, the Nomad 2X states 560 lb. We will add the GoMad’s number here if Velotric publishes one.
Why does the GoMad have small wheels?
Twenty-inch wheels keep the load and the rider lower, which makes a loaded bike markedly more stable and easier to handle at low speed; combined with 4.0-inch tyres you also get a large contact patch for grip on loose surfaces. The trade-offs are a slightly harsher ride over big bumps and more spoke tension per wheel, so keep an eye on wheel trueness if you load it heavily.
GoMad or Nomad 2?
Both are $1,999 fat-tyre bikes. The GoMad is the utility one — small wheels, low stance, 75 claimed miles — and the Nomad 2 is the recreational one on bigger wheels with 65 claimed miles. Pick the GoMad if you carry things, the Nomad 2 if you mostly ride for fun.
Our take
The GoMad is the practical pick in a range that is otherwise mostly about commuting and recreation, and the 20 x 4.0 format is genuinely well chosen for the job — small wheels keep the load low and the bike stable in a way a tall fat bike isn’t. Seventy-five claimed miles is also generous for something cargo-capable. Where we have to be careful is the word cargo itself. Velotric doesn’t publish a maximum load or a rack capacity for the GoMad, which for a bike sold on utility is the one figure you most want, and without it we can’t tell you how much it will actually take. If carrying capacity is the reason you are shopping, the better-documented options are the Nomad 2X at $2,399 with its published 560 lb load rating, or a proper longtail from another brand. If you mainly want a sturdy, planted bike that handles a full pannier and a rough road, this does that well for $1,939 with our code.
